When her parents disappear, Scheherazade "Sadie" Keating does what any aspiring archaeologist would do...
Save the world from a sinister mastermind, risk her life for fame and glory...and, oh yeah, possibly obtain omniscient power. No pressure!
1931 follows Scheherazade 'Sadie' Keating's adventures for a year after she graduates from high school. The story takes place in New York in 1930 and ends in 1931. Sadie's parents were archaeologists who went missing while on an archaeological dig. Sadie is determined to follow in their footsteps and maybe even find some romance along the way.
The game is a visual novel with heavy stat-raising elements. Sadie goes on different 'capers' and has challenges that she must overcome by using the skills she has learned. The skills can be raised directly by doing tasks or can be raised temporarily by using 'inspiration' cards that Sadie acquires.
There are 11 different endings, each with 11 variations, for a total of 121 endings (15 are presumably not able to be unlocked in-game). Each guy has a 'Dream' route and a 'Friendship/Relationship' route, and there is also the 'Dream of Family' Sadie can pursue. The average player can expect to take somewhere around 18ish hours on the first play through and less in the future if the player skips read text the next time they play.
